On July 9, the news about the resumption of flights to Gelendzhik Airport finally came out. This airport has become dear to me as I filmed it three times at different stages. It’s nice to see how the footage spreads across various social media platforms.
The channel features information and footage from different stages of the airport’s construction. For those interested in observing how it all happened, here’s the list:
The airport is a unique seismic-resistant structure where the foundation and columns work independently from the roof. Ventilation is provided through G-shaped shafts located around the building, leading to underground engineering communications. The wavy roof ceiling, in addition to its aesthetic function, serves as a large polygonal LED panel capable of displaying various scenarios. Theoretically, this is an ideal place for raves and concerts 🤩, but that’s not certain.
I officially declare: Gelendzhik has the best baggage claim area. You definitely should get your suitcase from these elegant "mushrooms"! I’ve never seen anything like it.
I’m happy for the locals and everyone planning to fly south to the sea in this heat… 😅, it was high time to relieve Sochi Airport.
