Gelendzhik Airport Interior

Part 3

Architecture: Fuksas
General Contractor: Alpha Stroy

Several features define the airport’s interior, with the main one being the interactive ceiling. I’ll attach a couple of photos from the construction phase in the comments to show the scale of the electricians' sleepless nights. Functionally, these are programmable RGB triangles capable of displaying various scenarios, from solid colors to tricolors and seasonal themes.

The multimedia setup is impressive. There are two enormous screens, one inside and one outside, with the exterior screen styled to resemble a rock.

Another interior feature is the unconventional ventilation system. Air is drawn through L-shaped outdoor shafts and distributed via the base to the upper contours of the airport’s interior spaces. These look like portholes—you won’t mistake them in the photos.

But the best element, which I didn’t know about during construction, is the baggage claim area with two mushroom-like structures. No comments needed—just look at the photos!

Compact, cozy, and arguably the most beautiful airport in Russia.
