Besides Gelendzhik, I had to travel to the diametrically opposite side for work in May. As with Murmansk, I want to highlight the federal northern highways: the farther you go, the better they become.
Vologda reminds me of Suzdal. It’s cozy, clean, with many churches and low-rise wooden architecture. Surprisingly, even new buildings are being constructed from wood with intricate window frames. Walking through the streets, you marvel at the estates where people live. If this were Moscow, they would have long turned them into museums.
For a complete picture, modern park landscaping is lacking. There are parks, but the paths and lighting desperately need replacing. And finish the River Station! Such an epic building is standing idle.
