Interviews and Construction
At the end of last week, I flew again to film the airport in Gelendzhik, but this time not for an interview, but for a studio project.
The developer kept their promise that this would be one of the most beautiful airports in Russia. Over the past two and a half years, the location has been fully prepared to welcome passengers; we just need to wait for the flight ban to be lifted.
Currently, only the Sochi airport is operating on the coast, and there are three ways to reach Gelendzhik: by train, by water, or by car. Hoping that the season hasn’t yet entered its active phase and wanting to maintain mobility, I opted for the last option. I just didn’t take into account the sudden temperature change and seasonal road repairs, which turned the 300 km journey into half a day.
I enjoy watching the development of this region. Although there is overheated real estate and some infrastructural problems, the overall leap in development is enormous. Beautiful architecture and nature, clean streets, children and adults on all the sports grounds, sailing regattas, delicious and sometimes unique food services—no worse than in the capital. It fills me with pride.
