Redo everything!

Today we discussed a situation with a client: they have ready renders of a project, but the management is not satisfied with the appearance of the architectural materials. The client sought our assistance for adjustments, but the original scene source is missing. I suggested three solutions:

  1. Ask the current contractor to adjust the project. It only requires a highly precise specification. There’s a risk that the contractor may hit their limits, but it’s a quick and inexpensive option.
  2. Transfer the sources to a new contractor. If the contract allows, it’s possible to take over and reassemble the setup and materials of the original, saving time and money on modeling and ensuring a quality result.
  3. Start the project from scratch with a new contractor. Considering our pre-holiday rush, this will take longer and be more expensive than options 1 and 2, but it will be beautiful and risk-free.

Conclusion: Let’s give the client an opportunity to save the budget when possible. In my opinion, the long-term approach will bring you much more profit.
