Project: Hotel Romeo Roma
Architecture: Zaha Hadid Architects

Geo: Rome, IT
I rarely publish interiors in the magazine's feed, but I can't pass by Zaha's heavy suite. Before you is a hotel in Rome where Renaissance and Baroque coexist with the avant-garde design of the renowned firm.
Unlike many authors with abstract descriptions of their projects, ArchDaily features a fundamental multi-page annotation. Check it out if you want to read about the project from the architects' perspective.
I wanted to draw your attention to the fact that the hotel owner began collaborating with ZHA a year before Maestro's departure. This is important because I previously thought that the transformation of the firm's work began only after Hadid's era. This project's example refutes my thesis and indicates that changes are part of the overall development plan of the company, expanding the architects' toolkit. This primarily concerns texture: in the canonical gradation of monochrome with an emphasis on white, a palette of color spots begins to emerge, where wood and gold play a significant role.
Familiar forms of authorial deconstructivism in all this wrapping look like Baccarat crystal: expensive and very luxurious.
PS Here are a few examples in canonical style: one, two, three, and our project for ZHA.
And another example of a facade with golden accents.
PPS Be sure to check the plan —it helps structure the volume in your head.
