Optimization. An Introduction

In the artistic IT industry, significant changes occur every 5-7 years, including shifts in team composition, equipment, and software. Yet, the need for developing 3D content remains constant.

Our portfolio includes numerous full-CG master plans, some of which have been in progress for years. All the changes I've mentioned leave their mark on the state of the scene. Without proper control, eventually, the scene could cease to function.

Since optimization essentially involves only internal changes, visual clients are unlikely to appreciate your efforts. However, the ease of working with a scene directly impacts the quality and speed of project implementation.

In this series, I will discuss the tools and rules of optimization we use in our work.
