I think most of you have surely seen the astonishing results that artificial intelligence has been producing lately. The active phase began at the start of 2021, when one of the most powerful image generation engines based on textual descriptions, Dall-E, entered closed beta-testing. Since then, the internet has seen not just abstract AI-generated images, but also more intriguing examples like augmenting existing masterpieces of painting, creating their "variations on a theme", animations, advertising, or fashion.
Of course, the architectural field has not been an exception. I often come across organic (and not only) architecture where it’s impossible to tell at first glance whether a human or a machine created the project.
Despite illustrators and graphic designers stirring panic online that they will be out of jobs, I’ll refrain from commenting for now and suggest conducting a related survey. Later, we will definitely discuss the big red "MAKE IT BEAUTIFUL" button in the field of architecture and 3D visualization.
PS It’s a pity that AI can’t generate the likelihood of what Gaudi would have said had he gotten his hands on such a tool.
