A modeler assembles the geometry of a scene, specifically:

  • Builds geometry based on drawings, photographs, sketches
  • Optimizes, checks for errors, and organizes source data (models from clients, purchased models, etc.)
  • Details the geometry, models, and enriches the scene with common objects (street furniture, lanterns, cars, etc.)
  • Applies basic material layouts to scene objects

We divide modelers into three categories:

  1. Architectural (buildings + master plans)
  2. Objects (interior and exterior objects and items)
  3. Characters (bionic forms)

A modeler is a constant participant in the architectural visualization workflow. They execute the first stage of production, resulting in a render in white material. The quality of the modeler’s geometry determines the project’s functionality, especially for large-scale tasks.
