Moscow 875

The phenomenon of the "Moscow Magnet", attracting people from all corners of our Vast land, can only be understood by living here for some time. The scale of the city and the rhythm of life amaze newcomers. Some find it to their liking, while others opt for the calmer and more melancholic St. Petersburg.

When I first came here about 10 years ago, I lived and worked in Ordynka. At that time, the concept of comfortable urbanization of the metropolis was gaining momentum. Before my eyes, Pyatnitskaya was being transformed into the familiar barrier-free environment we all know today, with wide pedestrian promenades, bike lanes, cozy lighting, restored facades, etc.

Back then, it seemed that scaling this experience across all of Moscow was a task of fantasy. In practice, however, it took just 10 years to apply it not only within the Central district inside the Garden Ring but also to other areas up to New Moscow. And it feels like the process of evolution is only accelerating each year.

Today Moscow turns 875 years old, and in honor of this, I’m attaching a selection of my favorite photos of this incredible city.
