The Benefits of Temporary Installations

Paris has recently been delighting with new architectural marvels. The exhibition pavilion we’re discussing today, in my opinion, is not just another one. It is extremely interesting in terms of construction and also in how it expands the space of the Champ de Mars (the last frame confirms this).

The pavilion is located directly in front of the École Militaire building, on the opposite side from the Eiffel Tower. Among all its features, I would highlight the mirrored glazing of the main facade. With this simple trick, the architects brilliantly played with space, reflecting the square and thereby doubling the volume of the Champ de Mars.

Such solutions allow for a temporary change in a canonical location and address the question: "What if?"

Isn’t this a performance of contemporary art?
