Continuing the theme of white cubes

Today, I’m in the mood to talk about white, if you know what I mean 🥶. Seriously, let’s continue the topic of multilayered white facades. The first project was in Spain, today’s is in China; both are fresh, from different studios, and I don’t think it’s a coincidence—it seems like a trend. If you know of anything similar in new constructions, drop it in the comments.

The main feature of the design is the outer contour made of fine perforation, functionally sufficient to meet the needs of insulation while solving a decorative task. No matter how much we love monolithic concrete structures and how sophisticated the ventilated facades are, it’s not always possible to hide massive geometry. The second contour adds airiness during the day and makes the art gallery visually "weightless."

Most windows are covered with perforated panels, which, in my opinion, is excessive for residential spaces. However, this solution is appropriate for public buildings. For living, this format is unsuitable for another reason—night lighting. The beauty of the design unfolds after sunset: light passing through all layers of perforation softly diffuses around the facade, enhancing the effect visible during the day. The building transforms into an art installation, and RGB lighting opens up an incredible number of lighting scenarios. However, for this reason, living under a second contour with constant illumination seems impossible. But it looks incredibly beautiful!
