Last autumn, the guys responsible for the Summer and Winter festivals in Moscow reached out to us at GORK for renderings. Although we didn’t finalize anything for implementation, during our discussions, I learned that a liner was being constructed at the beginning of Gorky Park’s embankment throughout the past year. It was conceptually described as a multifunctional recreational area, and honestly, observing the construction process live raised some questions.
The fences were removed, and I decided to take some photos there yesterday. Picture the scene: night, pouring rain, and cold. The entire embankment is filled with gentlemen in hard hats, project supervisors, and tenants in expensive suits brushing off construction dust from each other. In short, just another Saturday evening in Moscow at a construction site on the verge of project completion.
It’s hard to say how well this multi-level cluster will fit into the traditionally open space of the embankment. Functionally, the project is beautiful gastro-commerce: some spaces like the flagship spot Surf or the Bali restaurant with crystal cubes really captured my heart.
There’s a feeling that the elite entertainment cluster from October is gradually moving to GORK. It strongly resembles a modern interpretation of the Strelka bar. Not much longer to wait now!
