"Client’s Wishes": When and How to Respond?

Part 1

It may seem logical to fulfill all the demands of a client who orders a service. However:

  1. It’s crucial to adhere strictly to these requirements before the project’s start. At this stage, you can use persuasive recommendations to form a well-structured brief and contract, which you’ll follow later. If the client’s approach is unsatisfactory, you can either refuse or increase the price to compensate for the expected discomfort and overtime.
  2. During the production phase, analyze incoming comments and filter them based on their alignment with the brief, references, and common sense. If the client’s requests exceed the agreed terms, contest them in writing, explaining your disagreement. Approximately half of the incoming comments are typically rebutted.
  3. After the project delivery, any adjustments are made at an additional cost. If changes are minor, you can strengthen loyalty by making some adjustments for free.
