Logistics Hub for Urban Environment

In the early stages of the studio’s practice, I often took on a variety of projects: from cottages to objects. Industrial buildings also came up. One client was working on logistics center projects that were actively being established throughout Russia.

From an artistic standpoint, semi-industrial objects are poorly suited for both urban settings and portfolios. Given the goals and functionality, architectural refinements take a back seat. But if we hypothetically consider the need for a logistics hub within the city limits, what would this object look like?

The team at System Arquitectura found a brilliant recipe for solving this task.

Let me highlight the key points:

  •  White color concealing volume
  •  Fragmentation of the facade with an asymmetrical wave shape
  •  The cherry on top — budget perforated material that effectively lets light through in the evening

As a result, in photographs, the project looks like an art gallery. Beautiful! Such a structure can be organically integrated into the urban space.

PS I encountered a similar approach in the initial design solutions for the stadium in Kaliningrad for the FIFA World Cup, where dynamic RGB lighting was used for the facades.
