City-Line

Project: The Line

There are countless cities across the globe. However, almost none of#nbsp;them solve the problem of#nbsp;high-quality transformation of#nbsp;pedestrian and transport connections.

For instance, the fact that Moscow has significantly increased pedestrian and green areas, and introduced paid parking, as#nbsp;we#nbsp;see, contributes little to#nbsp;the elimination of#nbsp;traffic jams. People’s flows are heavily intertwined with transport arteries, and noise and air pollution are eternal satellites of#nbsp;the modern metropolis.

Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al#nbsp;Saud of#nbsp;Saudi Arabia proposed a#nbsp;radical change in#nbsp;the approach to#nbsp;urban environment formation. The concept involves stretching the city into a#nbsp;long line, with all transport arteries going underground. Preliminary estimates suggest that one could travel the 170#nbsp;km from one end to#nbsp;the other in#nbsp;just 20 minutes. Naturally, the city will be#nbsp;powered by#nbsp;renewable energy sources.
