Architectural Purity

Architects: KWY. studio
Project: Desert X#nbsp;AlUla Visitor Centre
Location: Al-'Ula, Saudi Arabia

Pure architecture, for example, can be#nbsp;characterized by:
  • Balanced volume of#nbsp;composition
  • Canonical execution of#nbsp;the classic facade
  • Harmonious use of#nbsp;the color palette
  • Elegant form creation
  • All of#nbsp;the above

In#nbsp;my#nbsp;opinion, the most interesting parameter is#nbsp;the organic integration of#nbsp;architecture into the surrounding space. A#nbsp;well-integrated object will unconsciously attract the eye and become a#nbsp;natural extension of#nbsp;the environment.

Consider the example of#nbsp;a#nbsp;gallery and café project built in#nbsp;the midst of#nbsp;a#nbsp;scorching desert#nbsp;— it#nbsp;might seem odd. But no: the succinct and emphatically correct white volume of#nbsp;the building contrasts devilishly organically with its surroundings. Pure and tasteful!
