Small Architectural Forms are divided into two categories:
The functional ones are straightforward: they are essential tools for modern landscaping. Various elements of recreation, children’s and sports areas, lighting, etc.
The situation becomes more interesting with artistic SAFs. Their primary and everyday task is to form centers of attraction within the built environment. One object can become so viral that, at the stage of selling square meters, it can outperform the most intricate marketing strategy. This, I tell you as a photographer. The situation can follow a scenario of reels hitting the trends with millions of views unexpectedly.
It’s disappointing when such objects are hidden from the wide audience behind tall fences. The concept of "residents only" privacy is justified for some objects, but it’s not worth overdoing it. Architecture and its surroundings are inherently public spaces, and it’s unclear why their satellites are closed off to the public. An artistic SAF can support the composition and volume, contribute to the project’s recognizability no less than the facades themselves, or even become an urban legend.
PS I wonder if the exclusivity represented by five-meter fences amidst the wonderful pine forest will ever be abolished in Rublyovo-Uspenskoye?)
