It’s always exciting to step outside the standard work tasks: a new product, sector, client format, scale of objects, etc. The key is to seek opportunities to apply accumulated experience. In this case, according to the theory of an unclouded perspective, one can find a unique solution.
Last year, I wrote about the reconstruction of a historical monument in Bahrain, where the developer was the international conglomerate EMMAR, whose standard projects are usually several times larger. Today, I want to showcase a unique solution from the equally renowned MVRDV. It turns out that the Dutch bureau eagerly practices luxury retail design, where alongside the turquoise brand, there are also Hermes, Bvlgari, etc. The result is an intriguing blend of architecture and jewelry, with a recognizable image and organic parametrics. Like!
PS. I once photographed the headquarters of Tiffany and Bvlgari in Geneva (the last photo), which stand opposite each other. I understand that the age of these offices is decades older than today’s project; however, the overall design feels much more modest and perhaps more expensive.
