Architecture: STUDIO A+
Project: Zhengdong Longhu Public Art Center
Location: Zhengzhou, CH
When we were just discussing the School 800 project, I asked the person overseeing it, "Do you realize where you are building this facility? On one side, there’s a design bureau with lively locals, opposite is a convenience store frequented by grandmothers, and all around, it’s a typical suburban area with endless parking. People might not understand a high-tech campus here."
To which I received the reply, "If you need to change the environment, you have to shape it."
Looking at the panorama of the current project, the absence of any surrounding buildings is striking. However, the park areas are prominent, and it’s highly likely that the empty spaces will soon be filled with residential blocks, with this cultural center becoming their focal point. It’s a fine example of organizing a new urban environment. It will be interesting to watch its development.
