Positioning the Object

Ph: K. Gorozhanin

Considering that the stop for the sculpture "Big Clay #4" is#nbsp;not its first, it’s amazing how universally it#nbsp;has filled the new space of#nbsp;the embankment. However, there are few vantage points from which the object organically fits into the environment. I#nbsp;counted only three, all from the opposite side of#nbsp;the shore. I’m sharing them with you.

Just like in#nbsp;model photography, every Instagram diva knows that the face will turn into something unseemly if#nbsp;shot from a#nbsp;low angle with the distance of#nbsp;an#nbsp;outstretched arm. The photo will present you with a#nbsp;gloomy cloud.

But that’s all poetry. The real action is#nbsp;on#nbsp;the#nbsp;PR lawn, where, it#nbsp;seems to#nbsp;me, such a#nbsp;striking object was placed primarily to#nbsp;draw attention to#nbsp;the opening of#nbsp;GES-2. After standing with a#nbsp;tripod for half an#nbsp;hour near the sculpture, all dialogues are dedicated only to#nbsp;it. Meanwhile, no#nbsp;one seems to#nbsp;criticize the magnificent (not ironically) blue pipes anymore. The same goes for the monument#nbsp;— it#nbsp;will be#nbsp;discussed, and then forgotten, once the goal is#nbsp;achieved and it’s moved to#nbsp;its next stop.
