It’s gratifying to see that after building the famous Mary Axe skyscraper in central London in 2004, the F+P team continues to create "variations on a theme".
The tower of the Central Bank of Kuwait headquarters has a conical shape with a panoramic view of the Persian Gulf from the north side. Along with concrete ribs on the other sides of the façade, it provides shading from the scorching rays and structural support for the skyscraper.
Such a shape would feel comfortable in almost any urban landscape. Whether it’s dense urban development (like Mary Axe) or an open space like Lahta (forgive me, citizens of St. Petersburg, I’m a fan of it).
